In 1998 she participated in the CBDD (Conselho Brasileiro de Danca) competition and received the judges honor. In 1999 she won a second place prize at the Festival International of Salvador, Bahia, with a variation from Coppelia (Act 3). In 2000 she won a scholarship at Tatiana Leskova School of Ballet, Rio de Janeiro, studied there for a year, and was a guest artist at the Festival of Nova Friburgo (RJ).
From 2001-2002 Daniela worked at the Studio de Dancas, both as a dancer and as a teacher of young children (ages 7-8), and also taught at the Project Pro-Crianca, Em Cena, for disadvantaged children.
