Daniela Malta began her ballet training with Cecilia Moura in San Paulo.  She continued her studies at the Studio de Dancas with Ruth Rozenbaum, Larissa Arsujo, and Dennis Nevidommy (teachers of Boilshoi Ballet School, Brazil).  In 1998 she participated in the CBDD (Conselho Brasileiro de Danca) competition and received the judges honor.  In 1999 she won a second place prize at the Festival International of Salvador, Bahia, with a variation from Coppelia (Act 3).  In 2000 she won a scholarship at Tatiana Leskova School of Ballet, Rio de Janeiro, studied there for a year, and was a guest artist at the Festival of Nova Friburgo (RJ).

From 2001-2002 Daniela worked at the Studio de Dancas, both as a dancer and as a teacher of young children (ages 7-8), and also taught at the Project Pro-Crianca, Em Cena, for disadvantaged children.  In 2002 she won another scholarship, this time to the Escuela Mayor de Danza, where she trained for a year and then performed Swan Lake and Dom Quijote with the company Los Ballets de Madrid.

Since 2004 she has been performing with the Portland Ballet (Maine), where she had the opportunity to perform La Vivandiere with ABT Studio Company.  Currently she is furthering her training by attending classes and seminars at Portland Ballet and Boston Ballet, where she volunteered for the project City Dance. Recently Daniela has been accepted into the BFA Dance Program at The Boston Conservatory.  She has danced many variations from the classics, such as Le Corsaire,  Coppelia, Harlequinade, Dom Quijote, and Sleeping Beauty.
